cmdlinetips.com is a blog/website that started out as place holder for keeping basic commands on Linux/Unix, with focus on beginners. Over time, it has become a website with tips for using Python, and R for doing all things Data Science.
Initial idea for the website was simple. Just wanted a google-able How-To notes for personal use for common linux related tasks. Slowly added notes from Python and R. Fast forward a few years.. then found that it has been useful for others as well.
Recently the site has been getting 10K visitors per week day consistently. As of September 2019, the site is getting 14,000 users per week day, 60,000 users per week, 640,000 page views per month. And it is continuing to increase. Really happy to see the use of the site. Check out the screen grab from Google Analytics for more detailed stat for the month of July this year.
As you can imagine, it is taking some effort/money to keep doing this. I have just started thinking about ways support the site running. I am considering advertising an option, although it might suck. Disclosure: Recently added Amazon affiliate links to the books mentioned in the blog to see if the affiliate income can cover some of the costs. So far nothing big has come through.
